Well, 2017 was a slightly busy year as I decided to set actual writing goals for myself and I achieved them! Up until last year, I’d always been a casual writer with no end goal in sight. With my success of finishing a novel and publishing an anthology of short stories, I’m starting to take my writing more seriously.
With that said, 2018 is going to be even more productive! I want to edit the novel I finished last year and publish a second anthology. The first half of my year is going to be editing, editing, and more editing. I also need to find and commission a few artists to create art for inside the anthology.
If I’m able to finish editing the novel, I’d also like to begin preparing that for publishing as well, but I don’t want to get ahead of myself. There will be plenty of rewrites to finish and another round of editing before it’s ready to start prepping to be published.
And that’s not even all of it. I’m also participating in a few lit and artist collaboration contests. It’s exciting to work with an artist on a project together because I get to see a visualization of my writing. Not having to pay for it is pretty awesome too.
That’s what I have in mind for 2018. I hope it’s as productive as 2017 and I’m able to achieve every goal I set for myself.
